Why does the S7 driver not show the status "Connected" for a PLC connection?

To get the connection state 'Connected' for a new created device (via S7 device panel) at least one active peripheral address for this PLC has to be configured.
Configure the correct address and activate it afterwards. 
Start the driver again and check the connection state. Now the state should change to 'Connected' if all other parameters for this PLC are set correctly.
