PVSS00event - PARAM/SEVERE - Alarm Reduction: The alert is also referenced in the sum alerts, Specify an alert class to avoid multiple references

Enclosed you'll find the explanation for a log-message which can occur during startup or runtime when configuring summary alerts. The log-message is written to the PVSS_II.log-file.

PVSS00event (0), 2013.12.12 11:34:21.748, PARAM,SEVERE, 180, Alarm Reduction: The alert System1:Engine.status.failure is also referenced in the sum alerts
- System1:Engine.status.sum_alert
Specify an alert class to avoid multiple references.

Log-message with symbolic names:

PVSS00event (0), <TIMESTAMP>, PARAM,SEVERE, 180, Alarm Reduction: The alert <DPE-name single alert> is also referenced in the sum alerts
- <DPE-name summary alert>
Specify an alert class to avoid multiple references.

This log-message can occur when using summary alerts and the function for the alert reduction. It describes that the configuration for the summary alerts is not consistent.

When using the function for the alert reduction you have to specify an alert-class for the summary alert <DPE-name summary alert> where the single alert <DPE-name single alert> is referenced.
To get all summary alerts where the single alert is referenced you can make an ASCII-export for the _alert_hdl-config and search in the ASCII-file for the dp-element with the single alert.

For details concerning the configuration of summary alerts and the alert reduction please have a look at the online help: Module Para --> Data point configs --> _alert_hdl (Alert handling) --> Sum alert handling.
