Advantages and Overview

This chapter gives you an overview of the Analytics package. The Analytics package contains the Data mining Wizard, the Classification Wizard and the R Control Extension.

By using the functionality of the Analytics package, you can explore your system data by training statistical models and then use the models at runtime in order to detect root causes for problems in your system. You can detect problems quickly and early on.

The Analytics packages utilizes the data mining algorithm (R language) provided by the Control Extension. The R language can also be directly used in WinCC OA Control.

The Analytics package offers:

  • The Classification wizard: Use the classification wizard to train random forest model for detection of root causes and then use the forest model at runtime to detect problems.

  • Direct use of the data mining algorithm (R language) in CTRL

  • Classification, regression, association rules, genetic algorithms, time series analysis, cluster analysis, …

The root cause analysis provided by the Analytics package as well as the functionality of the KPI frameworkallow you to identify areas for improvement toenhance effectiveness, to increase system performance and availability through decision support and to optimize your costs.
