Output options

Filter

The following check boxes specify what you want to output.

  • Set/clear all filters (TDAOPHC)
  • Data point types (T)
    • + Type references
  • Data points (D)
    • + Pwr.Conf.Settgs.
  • Alias and comments (A)
  • Original values (D)
  • Parametrization (P)
  • Parametrization including timestamp (PH)
  • Plantmodel (C)
    • + Linked DPs

If you want to output, for example, only data point types, select the Data point types (T) checkbox. If you want to output everything, choose the Set/clear all filters (TDAOPH) option and all options are selected.

If you select the Configuration including timestamp option, the Configuration option is ignored and thus does not affect data output. So, by selecting different checkboxes, you can choose what you want to output.

If the option Plantmodel + Linked DPs is selected, the filter options data point types (P) + type references and data points (D) + Pwr.Conf.Settgs are automatically set as well. Therefore, it is ensured that e.g. the data point types of the linked data points are existent in other systems. Moreover, the linked DPs option adds all data points linked to nodes of the plant model to the DP selection list automatically.

If a data point type has a master data point (and thus also PowerConfigs), now also the necessary _dt_* data points of the internal data point type _DynamicDatapoints are exported. If the filter Original values was set, then also the corresponding dynamic attributes of the PowerConfigs (_da_*) are exported.

Restriction: The ASCII manager limit for import and export of large values (e.g. BLOBs) is 1MB.
Note: When exporting original values of data point elements where the last value storage is disabled (see also _original (Original attributes) or _original), the current original value is not exported.

Format

CAUTION: Note that the option -langlist can only be used to export the database in a specific language. When you import the database, the language entries have to exist for all different languages. If you import only one language, the entries in other languages are overwritten.

For the export there are different options available:

  • Regular export: The defined data point types respectively data points with their structure from the database are mapped into an ASCII file. The file extension of this export is .dpl.

  • Multi language export (Format 2): Options for selecting the desired languages is displayed. If you do not select any specific languages, all languages are automatically exported. In order to add languages to the list, select a language from the combo box and click on the Add button. To delete languages, select the language and click on the Delete button. The file extension of this export is .dpl.

Note: When exporting a data point type (including master data point, data points and configured PowerConfigs) using the first two formats (Regular export and Multi language export (Format 2)), note that the internal data point (_DynamicDatapoints) which administers the PowerConfig settings is also exported (see also Filter for DPT, DP and configs).
  • PowerConfig output 1 DP/line (Format 3): An ASCII file that contains all PowerConfigs with the dynamic attributes, is generated. There is one data point per line in the file (For detailed information on this format, see the chapter Templates/DP lists, basics). This option is also related with mass configuration in WinCC OA (see Mass configuration, basics). The file extension of this export is .datapoint type.ascii.

  • PowerConfig output 1 DPE/line (Format 4): An ASCII file that contains all PowerConfigs with the dynamic attributes is generated. There is one data point per line in the file (for detailed information on this format, see the chapter Templates/DP lists, basics). This option is also related with mass configuration in WinCC OA (see Mass configuration, basics). The extension of this export is .ascii.

Configs

When selecting the option Parametrization or Parametrization including history a selection window is displayed. This selector is used to define which DP configs to output.

Time

If the Start export from (time) option is selected, a time selector is displayed (see chapter ASCII panel). The Start export from (time) option is used to output only changes made after the selected date. The Now button is used to set the time to the current system time.

Note: The option Start export from (time) is only visible when selecting the export option "Regular export" or "Multi language export (Format 2)".

DP types selection

The list on the right contains all data point types to be output. In order to add data point types, select a data point type in the combo box below the list and click the Add button. Data point types are deleted from the list in the same way as data points.

DP selection

DP selection contains a list of all data points to be output. Click the DP selector button to add a data point. Select the desired data point using this selector. The data point is added to the list by clicking the Add button. In order to delete a data point, select the data point in the list and click the Delete button.

If both data point type(s) and data point(s) are selected, all selected data point types are exported but only the data points that match with one of the selected data point types are exported.

Plantmodel selection

This list contains all nodes existing in the plant model which shall be output. Click on the DP selector button and select the appropriate node. Click on the Add button to add a node to the list. Select a node an click on the delete button in order to remove it from the list.

By default, the ASCII files are saved in the directory <proj_path>/dplist.
