Summary and relevant links
A WinCC OA project, particularly a project dealing with major installations, can be simplified considerably for the user if the necessary panels are structured in a hierarchy. The panel topology/group alert functions included with the program installation lets the user define how his panels are to be organized in a project. This can be done right from the start of a project, or existing panels can also be integrated and saved in a topology with ease.
By generating group alerts from all the panels defined in the topology and their alert data points, any alerts that occur are reported back up to the central panel and displayed using the standard symbols supplied. The clear layout of the central operational panel (base panel) makes it particularly user friendly.
