Requirements for the DBLogger

Requirements

  • Installed WinCC OA and the DBLogger add-on.

  • A DBLogger license must exist.

  • A relational database must be available. MySQL, MS SQL Server and Oracle are supported by the DBLogger under Windows. MySQL and Oracle are supported by the DBLogger under Linux.

  • On Windows ODBC connections to the databases are required. ODBC is also required on Linux when using Oracle (unixODBC).

Installation

The DBLogger can be installed as an add-on (user definable option during WinCC OA installation) and must be added to the corresponding projects.

Perform the following steps to fully install the DBLogger on the computer:

  1. Integrate "DBLogger_<Version>" as sub project into your project (further information of integrating sub projects you can find on the page Change project properties).

  2. Start WinCC OA. Start a user interface with the option -extend.

  3. Start a WinCC OA Control Manager from the console with the script DBL_Control.ctl and attach the start mode always (for example, WCCOActrl DBL_Control.ctl).

The DBLogger is now fully installed and can be configured. See the chapterConfiguring the DBLogger.
