Southbound Interfaces
The process connection to the actual machines/sensors.
In automation technology, the term “southbound interface” refers to those interfaces that enable communication between the SCADA system and physical devices, such as sensors and controllers, in the process or production environment.
An extensive collection of communication drivers is available to enable this process connection. If required, this can be extended by developing additional project-specific drivers via the WinCC OA APIs (C++ API or C# API).
