OPC UA Server
The WinCC OA OPC UA Server provides an OPC UA interface to access WinCC OA data point values, alarms and historical data. For this purpose the OPC UA address space and data model is based on the WinCC OA data model.
This allows an external OPC UA client to connect to the WinCC OA system and read or write DP values, receive and acknowledge WinCC OA alarms or retrieve historical DP values.
Access to WinCC OA data
The WinCC OA OPC UA server provides its own process image (PABB). This ensures fast response times to read requests and allows load sharing.
A continuous synchronization mechanism between WinCC OA data and server PABB is executed in the server. Thereby it is guaranteed that the server is always up-to-date with the WinCC OA process image. The server address space is hierarchically structured and an image of the WinCC OA data structure.
The WinCC OA OPC UA server's address space can be defined either via data point groups or the OPC UA server CNS functionality.
