Requirements and Installation

Correctly installed WinCC OA version.
To modify the NGA settings, the WinCC OA user needs the authorization level (bit) 4.
For the supported databases InfluxDB®, PostgreSQL® and MS SQL®, see chapter Software requirements.

Note: When re-creating an already created new project for NGA by using the WCCOAtoolCreateDB, the config entry "useNGA = 1" must be removed from the config file as WCCOAtoolCreateDB starts ValueArchive internally and does not expect an NGA project.

Note: If several distributed systems store the data in a central database and these systems use the same schema, it must be ensured that the versions of all these systems support the same schema.

This means that all these systems must have the same WinCC OA version and the PostgreSQL® version officially supported for this WinCC OA version. Ideally, these systems should also have the same patch version.

Restriction: The Excel Report does not work with NextGen Archiver (NGA).

Notice: When using NGA in projects with high a database load it is recommended to run the database remotely, e.g. DB Installation - InfluxDB® on a remote system

Note: Data is buffered due to inconsistencies in schema versions and an error message is written to the log file.
