OPC group

The OPC group is a logical administrative unit for the OPC items in the server. The client uses it to define common properties for the OPC items contained in it. Like the OPC server, the group is also a COM object. The properties of a group and the use of these properties in WinCC OA are dealt with in the chapters Panel OPC group and _OPCGroup (OPC client). Unlike the OPC items, the groups are not made available by the server at the outset: they are created and configured by the client in the server. Note that the same OPC group must not be used for two different OPC drivers.
