Requirements

Installed WinCC OA version
Valid license for PROFINET and/or PROFIsafe (see Licensing)
A network card of type CP1616 for each WinCC OA host connected to the PROFINET network
Installed Siemens Development Kit DK16XX V2.9.2, which contains the drivers necessary for the CP1616 network card (firmware version V2.9.2.0.20). The setup for the Development Kit can be downloaded here.

Note: Under Linux, the CP1616 drivers must be compiled and installed separately (refer to the DK1616 documentation) before the PROFIsafe driver can be installed. A kernel update of the Linux installation requires a recompilation of the drivers.

Refer to Drivers - Supported Platforms of the main Drivers for information on supported platforms for the PROFIsafe driver.

For using the PROFIsafe driver, the menu entry "PROFIsafe driver" must be selected during the WinCC OA installation.
