Value simulation
The DemoApplication visualizes large numbers of measurement points. Measured values are simulated by the Control script mentioned above in order to be able to display realistic value changes in trend diagrams and reporting lists.
The value ranges and curve formats used here have been selected arbitrarily. However, they are not really intended to represent actual process parameters.
The "Base update rate" that can be set in the Settings panel specifies the time intervals at which the fastest measured values are meant to change. Some of the other data point elements are updated in multiples of this value, given in seconds.
Value simulation is not generally linked to the states and settings of actual latches or drives. Its function is mainly to write values to the data points at different time intervals.
