- System Overview

Requirements and Installation

Requirements

Following requirements must be matched to use the WinCC OA Dashboard

The base package of WinCC OA.
A valid license for the WinCC OA Dashboard (For further licensing information, please see ../../Installation/WinCCOA_licensing/licensing_basics.html)
Some Widgets require additional Licenses, see ULC UX Widget, Video Widget
Valid WinCC OA certificates

CAUTION: The WinCC OA Standard certificates must be replaced with your own valid certificates! These valid certificates must then be manually accepted in the browser.

Licensing Details

The Dashboard has both desktop and mobile license options. Mobile licenses are view-only, i.e. they do not give access to the edit mode.

If additional mobile licenses are required, desktop licenses can be used for mobile connections. The amount of licenses that can be used as such are set with the config entry [wssServer] DashboardSharedLicenses.

If no desktop licenses are available, a mobile license can be used, if a free one is available.

Tip: Depending on project configuration, the number of required licenses can be reduced by using a shared WebSocket connection for your web browser instead of separate WebSocket connections for each instance of the Dashboard in your local web browser, see Shared Worker.

You only need pure WebSocket licenses if you want to write a WebSocket server in CONTROL. This means as many licenses as simultaneous connections to the server should be possible. For the dashboard, you need as many licenses as the number of dashboards to be used simultaneously.
