BACnet_MSI
The Multi-state Input object type (WinCC OA datapoint type) defines a standardized object whose Present_Value represents the result of an algorithmic process within the BACnet Device in which the object resides. The algorithmic process itself is a local matter and is not defined by the protocol. For example, the Present_Value or state of the Multi-state Input object may be the result of a logical combination of multiple binary inputs or the threshold of one or more analog inputs or the result of a mathematical computation.

(Object/)Datapoint Type Structure
DP_Name.property
Datapoint Element (Property) | Data Type | Device-depending availability | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Present_Value | unsigned Integer | No | This property reflects the logical state of the input. The logical state of the input should be one of 'n' states, where 'n' is the number of states defined in the Number_Of_States property. The means used to determine the current state is a local matter. The Present_Value property should always have a value greater than zero. The Present_Value property should be writable when Out_Of_Service is TRUE. |
Faceplate
When the hand mode is activated, the present value/state can be changed directly in the faceplate. For more details, see Value Input Panel.
