Directory Structure

During the installation the following directory structure was created in the selected target directory. This is the place where basic elements of WinCC OA (executables, standard user interfaces, language catalogs, color definitions, graphic libraries, ...) were saved. We call this directory structure installation or version directory (wincc_oa_path) since it is the location of the installed version.

The single directories have the following meaning:

/3.18 - Version directory (Installation directory)
/AMS_3.18- directory of the subproject Advanced Maintenance Suite
/api- Files for API development
/BACnet_3.18 - directory of the subproject BACnet Application
/bin- Executable programs and DLLs
/colorDB - Color databases (ASCII based)
/CommCenter_ 3.18 - directory of the subproject Communication Center
/config - Configuration files (ASCII based)
/data - File saving for Add-On's, Reporting, …
/db - Base database (Base for project databases)
/dbdfiles - Base files for new (multilingual) project databases
/dplist - Target directory for ASCII import/export of the configuration
/help - Online help (as a QT help)
/images - Graphics parts of the process images
/DBLogger_ 3.18 - directory of the subproject DBLogger
/log - Log files (ASCII based)
/msg - Translation files/ Multilingualism ("Message catalogs")
/nls - Internal configuration files for multilingualism
/panels - Process images, Symbols, Dialogs ("Panels")
/pictures - Graphic files / Images
/Redundancy2x2_ 3.18 - directory of the subproject Disaster Recovery System
/scripts - Scripts and libraries of the internal programming language ("Control")
/source - Examples provided as source code
/Stdlib_3.18-directory of the subproject Standard Object Library
