Before compression
The following questions need to be considered before setting the archive parameters:
-
What values are you dealing with?
-
Which ones are relevant for archival?
-
Which functions (for example, mean, minimum, maximum) are essential for compression?
-
Are hourly or daily averages sufficient in some cases (compression over the same intervals)?
-
When composing data points, consider the following aspects to ensure reasonable data management: Dynamics (for instance all DPEs in an archive change at the same rate), logical association, necessary availability in the system.
-
Create your archives accordingly. You can either do that in advance (see History DB) or create them directly from the Compression configuration panel.
-
If necessary carry out a file changeover in the archive records to enable your inputs.
-
Do not forget to start the relevant WCCOAvalarch for each archive.
The archives used in compression configuration should already have been created with the correct parameters and started prior to use.
