- APIs
  An overview of the APIs (Application Programming Interface) available in WinCC OA.
- COM in WinCC OA

- WinCC OA JavaScript Manager for Node.js
  The WinCC OA JavaScript Manager for Node.js is a manager that allows for the integration of the TypeScript/JavaScript runtime environment Node.js® into WinCC OA.

XML-RPC uses HTTP for the transport and XML for the encoding. It sends the procedure call to a remote server through HTTP. The call is an XML document and it receives the response as XML.
- REST Reporting API
  The REST Reporting API is integrated into the Standard web server and can be activated via the config entry enabled in the [restReporting] section.

Installed WinCC OA base package
Installed WinCC OA base UI package
Installed WinCC OA SIMATIC PLC Discovery package

Restriction: The SIMATIC PLC Discovery is only available for Linux operating systems.

Restriction: Only the PLC types S7-300, S7-400, S7-1200 and S7-1500 are currently supported.

Important: The SIMATIC PLC Discovery uses libpcap to search for PLCs, therefore it must be available on your operating system.

Important: A driver must be running to properly create and configure a PLC connection with the SIMATIC PLC Discovery. A connection can also be created by using the Simulator Driver but this requires additional manual updates to the connection settings within the driver configuration panels.

Installation

Install the WinCC OA base package, the base UI package as well as the SIMATIC PLC Discovery package.
Within your project import the data point list PlcDiscovery.dpl using the ASCII Manager panel.
