NGA - Requirements and Installation - Windows

Installation of WinCC OA NGA

Describes the installation of WinCC OA NGA under Windows

Start the WinCC OA installation wizard.
Select the basic installation and the PostgreSQL® Server option and click on Next. The PostgreSQL® Server version 16.x is installed. This means deployment, database and schema, as well as the database process handling.

Alternatively, you can of course also use the InfluxDB® executables option .

Note: Deployment of PostgreSQL® under Windows requires approximately 85 MB disk space in the C:\Siemens\Automation\WinCC_OA\3.20\\version>\bin\pgsql
Close the installation wizard.
Create a WinCC OA project. When the NGA is activated, the following Config entry is included in the Config file of the project: [general] useNGA = 1

Note: This chapter describes the default installation of the PostgreSQL® database. If you want to install PostgreSQL server and/or client, read the chapters PostgreSQL® Server Installation und PostgreSQL® Client Installation.

Note: All internal datapoints (see Internal datapoint types) that have an archive configuration are saved in the standard archive group ("EVENT") if NGA is selected.
