Backend Local Out-of-Proc

This chapter describes the backend mode Out-of-Proc.

This scenario is included in the basic WinCC OA - No extra package is required. For this scenario the execution type "Out-Of-Proc" is used. This means that the backend runs as a separate process.

Basic integrated NGA features (locally installed database) as shipped with WinCC OA) as well as basic NGA features in redundant systems are included.

Note: To be included in the basic WinCC OA NGA license, the PostgreSQL® / MS SQL® / InfluxDB® must run locally.

The backend is a separate process, started and supervised by the Frontend Manager. The database is also running locally. To use the "Direct read" functionality (see Direct Read), the execution type Out-Off-Proc (Separate process) for "direct read" must be used - see also chapter Database Control.
Note: For the encrypted communication between the front (NGA manager)- and backend, see the chapter Using a Remote Backend with Encryption
